Creating GitHub Structure

What is GitHub?

GitHub is a hosting platform of source code with version control using Git. It allows developers, utilities or any registered user of the platform to contribute to private and / or Open Source projects from anywhere in the world.

It is widely used by programmers to publicize their work or for other programmers to contribute to the project, as well as to promote easy communication through features that report issues or merge remote repositories (issues, pull request).

GitHub is used worldwide and has over 3 million active users worldwide contributing to business or personal projects. Today GitHub houses over 65 million projects, some of which are known worldwide: WordPress, GNU / Linux, Atom, Electron. GitHub also supports the organization resource that is widely used by those who want a larger scale for their projects. Most of the time, the resource is used by existing companies like Google, Microsoft and WordPress.

When we are creating a GitHub structure, we need a Token, so when accessing the GitHub tool click on the top right in your avatar menu and click on "Help" (highlighted below) or access the tutorial directly by clicking here.

In the search field, type "token" and click the link as below:
Now just follow the step by step tutorial to create an access token for your Github data structure. With the token in hand, you can access Manage Environment> Data & Integrations> + Data Sources> Click on the Github icon below:
System will display the screen below:
Fill in the "Structure Name" field with any name you want.
In the "Token" field, paste the token as previously explained.
In the "Account Owner" field you must fill in the name of the actual Github account owner.
In the "Repository" field you must fill in the desired project name in Github to create your structure, as shown below.
Then, click on "validate parameters" and "save".
Ready! You can now create analytic objects from this newly created structure.
